S. M. Hasan Kalantar Motamedi MD, Associate Professor of Cardiovascular Surgery, obtained his high school diploma from the U.S. and after returning to Iran, graduated from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 1996 at the top of his class. He had fellowships in cardiac transplantation at the AKH in Vienna, Austria (Prof. Ernst Wolner) and cardiac surgery at the Texas Heart Institute (Dr. Denton Cooley) in 1996. He is presently active in the field of cardiovascular surgery at Bahman and Atieh Hospitals in Tehran.
He is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) and European Association of Cardiothoracic Surgeons (EACTS) and has performed nearly 18,000 cardiac surgery procedures to date, including coronary, adult congenital, heart valve repair and replacement, aortic and vascular procedures at multiple hospitals in Tehran.
